    DVR Flashlight Components Camera Lens Captures single still images or video. Microphone Captures audio when recording video. Infrared LEDs Allows for brighter images when in darkness. Flashlight Lens Contains the high-intensity LED and reflector. Handle (containing battery compartment) Contains 3 “C” size Ni-MH or alkaline batteries. End Cap Retains the batteries in the battery compartment.

    LCD Display Battery Indicator Displays as solid when batteries are at full strength and as fractions when they become depleted. Storage Capacity Indicator Displays the remaining capacity of the miniSD™ card if one is installed. The border flashes when no miniSD™ card is inserted and the DVR Flashlight is using internal memory.

    Interface Panel miniSD™ Card Slot Accepts a miniSD™ card. USB Port Accepts a mini-USB plug. 12V DC Connection Accepts the 12V DC Charger or Automotive Adaptor Charger.
  • Page 8: Installing And Recharging The Batteries

    Installing and Recharging the Batteries Gently turn the End Cap counter-clockwise to open the battery compartment and insert three “C” size batteries, positive terminals facing towards the lens. The DVR Flashlight accepts both non-rechargable alkaline batteries or the included rechargable Ni-MH batteries. Once inserted, replace the End Cap by gently turning it clockwise.

    Setting the Date and Time Setting the date and time is important, as this information will identify saved videos and snapshots when viewed on a PC. Pressing the Function Button once illuminates the LCD Display’s backlight. Pressing it again will cycle between the date and time. To set the date or time: Press the Function Button until the date or time is shown on the LCD Display (“Y”, “M”, and “D”...
  • Page 10 The DVR Flashlight writes all snapshots and videos to the miniSD™ card if one is inserted. A miniSD™ card of up to 2 GB capacity is supported. If a miniSD™ card is not inserted, the DVR Flashlight writes all snapshots and videos to its internal memory.

    Taking a Snapshot The DVR Flashlight captures still images in JPEG (.jpg) format. To take a snapshot: Press and hold the Snapshot Button for two seconds. The Data Indicator will flash for a few seconds. The DVR Flashlight is then in Snapshot Mode.

    Capturing a Video The DVR Flashlight captures video with synchronous sound in the MPEG-4 (.mp4) format. To record a video: Press and hold the Record Button for two seconds. The Data Indicator will flash for a few seconds. The DVR Flashlight is then in Record Mode.

    Connecting the DVR Flashlight to a PC Connect the DVR Flashlight to a PC to access snapshots and videos on the DVR Flashlight’s internal memory or the miniSD™ card. To connect the DVR Flashlight to a PC: Insert the mini USB plug on the included USB cable into the mini USB port on the Interface Panel.

    Returning the Unit for Service To return the SV-1000 unit for service: Call Technical Support at 800-880-8855. Speak to a Technical Support Representative. rMa number and any additional special instructions. Obtain an Carefully pack the unit, including all defective parts and a note that includes the RMA Number and a detailed description of the issue experienced.
