Causes
1. Dirty contact glass.
2. Dirty or flawed drum.
3. Dirty scanner mirror.
4. Dirty main charger wire.
(7) A black line appears laterally.
Causes
1. Dirty contact glass.
2. Dirty or flawed drum.
3. Dirty scanner mirror.
4. Dirty shading plate.
5. Leaking main charger housing.
(8) One side of the copy image is
darker than the other.
Causes
1. Dirty main charger wire.
2. Defective exposure lamp.
1. Dirty contact glass.
2. Dirty or flawed drum.
3. Dirty scanner mirror.
4. Dirty main charger wire.
Check procedures/corrective measures
Clean the contact glass.
Clean the drum or, if it is flawed, replace the drum unit (see page 1-6-38).
Clean the scanner mirror.
Clean the main charger wire or, if it is extremely dirty, replace the main
charger unit (see page 1-6-40).
Causes
1. Dirty contact glass.
2. Dirty or flawed drum.
3. Dirty scanner mirror.
4. Dirty shading plate.
5. Leaking main charger housing.
Check procedures/corrective measures
Clean the contact glass.
Clean the drum or, if it is flawed, replace it (see page 1-6-38).
Clean the scanner mirror.
Clean the shading plate.
Clean the main charger wire, grid and shield.
Causes
1. Dirty main charger wire.
2. Defective exposure lamp.
Check procedures/corrective measures
Clean the main charger wire or, if it is extremely dirty, replace the main
charger unit (see page 1-6-40).
Check if the exposure lamp light is distributed evenly. If not, replace the
exposure lamp and inverter PCB.
