TYPICAL
1. Fully pulled
Immediately after engine is started,
release start/stop button and release
choke lever half way.

CAUTION
To avoid starter motor overheat-
ing, the cranking period should
not exceed 5-10 seconds and a
rest period should be observed
between cranking cycles to let
the starter cool down and its
mechanism disengage.
A few seconds after, release the
choke lever and if necessary, slightly
apply throttle to keep engine running.
Warm Engine
The same procedure as a cold engine
applies, except the choke does not
need to be applied and throttle lever
has to be slightly depressed.
Cold and Warm Engine
To start engine, depress and hold the
start/stop button.
If engine fails to start after 10 sec-
onds, wait a few seconds then repeat
procedure.
Release start/stop button immediately
after engine is started.
GSX RFI, GTX RFI Models
Cold and Warm Engine
Firmly grip handlebar with both hands
and place both feet on the floorboard.

To start engine, depress and hold the
start button. Release immediately af-
ter engine is started.
NOTE: Do not depress the throttle le-
ver to start either a cold or warm en-
gine.
All Models
Slowly accelerate to reach deeper
water. Do not apply full throttle until
the engine is warm.

In shallow water, shells, sand,
pebbles or other objects could be
drawn up by the jet pump and
damage impeller, components or
clog the cooling system. Also, de-
bris could be thrown rearward
into bystanders.
Obstacles
Verify that the path ahead of the wa-
tercraft is clear of other craft or obsta-
cles. Avoid riding close to swimmers.
Check local boating laws for safe oper-
ation.
