A. CUTTER DECK BELT
1. Remove the locknut(A) from the adjusting rod.
2. Allow the tensioner pulley to go slack.
3. Remove the belt from the right hand and center
pulley. Replace in the reverse order of above and
tension to 10 lbs at 1/2" deflection on span
between center and L.H. spindles.
B. ENGINE-TO-CUTTER DECK BELT
1. First, remove deck belt, as explained above.
2. Remove the hairpin (A) from the blade control rod.
3. Lift the rod out of the clutching cam and allow the
tensioner pulley to go slack.
4. Remove the belt from the cutter deck pulleys and
pass under the engine deck.
5. Slacken the two belt guides at the engine pulley
and remove belt from engine pulley.
6. Replace in reverse order.
7. Adjust belt and guides for correct tension and
spacing (page 28); adjust blade brake (page 27).

BELT REPLACEMENT

C. HYDRO DRIVE BELT
1. Raise machine for access to underside of engine
deck.
2. Remove engine to cutter deck belt from engine pul-
ley.
3. Place 3/8" ratchet end into square hole in idler
arm (A) and turn to remove tension from belt. Do
not remove spring.
4. Remove hydro drive belt.
5. Replace in reverse order.
