Finalizing the Installation
Facing Requirements
•
This appliance is designed to allow for drywall (or other combustible facing) to contact the
sides and top of the front and back of the fireplace.
•
Non-combustible facing (tile, masonry, etc.) must be placed over the fiber board on the front
and back of the fireplace (see "Facing Overview" on page 31 for further details).
Drywall Installation
Drywall Installation Drywall may be
installed up to the front edge of the fireplace.
If the fireplace is raised, drywall up to the
bottom edge as well.
The non-combustible fiber
board must remain in place
above the fireplace. Non-
combustible facing (tile,
masonry, etc.) must be
placed over the fiber board.
Do not install drywall (or any
other combustible) in front
of the fireplace.
