3.1. MATERIALS
3.1.1. Chemicals
hfedia components and antibiotics
were
purchased
from
Hi-Media
Laboratories, India. Fine chemicals were purchased from Sigma Chemicals Co.. St.
Louis, MO, USA. Standard protein molecular weight markers were purchased from
Bangalore Genei, Bangalore, India and PCR reagents, Taq DNA polymerase,
magnesium chloride, lox reaction buffer, deoxyribonucleotide triphosphates (dNTPs)
and 1 kb DNA ladders were purchased from Promega. Madison, WI, USA.
Nitrocellulose membrane used for immunoblotting was purchased from Advantech.
MFS Inc., CA USA. The unique site elimination (USE) mutagenesis kit was
purchased from Pharrnacia Biotech, Inc.. Piscataway, NJ, USA. Solvents and reagents
were purchased from Sisco Research Laboratories, Mumbai, India.
3.1.2. Microorganisms, plasmids and antisera
Escherichia coli strains used in this study are listed in Table 5. Plasmids.
cDNA clones and antisera are listed in Table 6. Phytopathogenic fungi and bacteria
used in this study are listed in Table 7.
