Non-condensing Mode

The Non-condensing mode allows you to reduce dew condensation in the printer.
Sudden changes in temperature and/or humidity (such as rapid heating of a cold room using
a heater, or early morning hours in winter) can cause dew condensation in the printer,
resulting in poor print quality or paper jams in the fuser unit. The Non-condensing mode can
avoid such problems caused by dew condensation.
To enable this mode, set [Admin Menu] > [Maintenance Mode] > [Non Condensing] to
[Enable] (default: Disable) on the control panel.
The Non-condensing mode becomes effective from the morning after you enable it.
When using this mode, make sure you understand and follow the guidelines below.
1.
Leave the power on.
Important
• When the printer is left idle with the power on when the Non-condensing mode is enabled, the printer
switches to the Low Power mode and consumes less than 24 W of electricity.
2.
When the condensation is severe, this mode may not resolve the situation. In such
case, do not use the printer until the condensation disappears by itself.
3.
Enabling this mode automatically disables Sleep mode of the Power Saver feature. To
enable the Sleep mode, set [Non Condensing] to [Disable], and then set [Sleep
Mode]* to [Enable].
To Save Electricity:
• Switch the power off when not using the printer for an extended period of time.
• During seasons or in environments where internal condensation does not occur, set [Non
Condensing] to [Disable], and then set [Sleep Mode]* to [Enable] .
*: This setting is not supported on the models available in China. You do not need to set this
setting on those models.
