Figure 24-18 suggests you choose meaningful nicknames for the volumeswhen you define
them to the DS6000. These nicknames indicate that the volumes belong to Extent Pool2,
which is a CKD pool, and the corresponding z/OS device numbers are 2000+. The syntax of
the nicknames is a bit limited and does, for example, not allow you to use numerics in the
prefix part of the nickname when defined through the GUI.

24.7.2 Pause and resume Global Mirror

We are now going to pause Global Mirror session number 01, and then resume the session
number again.

Start again with the pull-down action list and from the Select Action pull-down list, select
Pause ; see Figure 24-19.
