Problem
Characters on computer display are
dim
Screen is blank and the
power/suspend light is on

Solving Screen Problems

Possible Cause
The brightness and/or contrast
controls are not properly set.
A screen blanking utility is initiated.
Brightness and contrast need
adjusting.
Screen save was initiated.
Suspend mode is initiated.
Your computer entered a low-battery
condition.
Your computer has either entered
Hibernation, or, if Hibernation is
disabled, the battery pack has
discharged without saving your
information.
QuickLock and QuickBlank were
initiated. These security features lock
the keyboard and pointing device and
clear the screen.
Solution
Press appropriate function key to
adjust brightness.
Press any key and/or enter your
Power-On password to return your
information to the screen.
Press the appropriate function key to
adjust brightness.
Press any key to return your
information to the screen.
Exit Suspend mode by pressing the
Suspend button.
If possible, immediately connect your
computer to an external power source.
If an external power source is not
available, initiate Hibernation by
holding down the Power button for
four seconds.
Your computer has not completed
Hibernation until all lights are off.
Connect your computer to an external
power source.
Charge the battery pack.
Replace the battery pack with a fully
charged battery pack.
Type your Power-On password to
unlock the keyboard and pointing
device and return the information to
the screen.
