Understanding Your Computer’s Status Lights
Your computer's lights are located on the bottom center of the keyboard and are
visible when the display panel is open or closed. The lights show the current
status of your computer. The following lights and icons appear on your
computer from left to right:
Battery
Charging
AC Adapter
Num Lock
Caps Lock
Scroll Lock
Icon
Lights up when the…
Computer is on, and blinks when the computer is
in Sleep mode.
Power
Battery is charging. If the light is not on, the
battery is not charging. If the AC Adapter is
plugged in and the light is not on, then the
battery is fully charged.
AC Adapter is plugged in.
Num Lock is on. You can use the embedded
numeric keypad to enter numbers. To toggle
Num Lock mode, press Shift+Num Lk
Cap Lock is on. When used, letters are typed in
uppercase. To activate, press the Caps Lock
key.
Scroll Lock is on. Text that takes up more than a
full screen scrolls up the screen line-by-line. To
activate, press the Scr Lk key.
