    Both switches have a module slot for installing any of the supported switch modules. The modules provide expanded network connec- tivity, and media and network speed flexibility. For the Switch 2424M, the HP ProCurve Gigabit Stacking Module can be installed allowing up to seven switches to be stacked and interconnected with a high speed backbone.

    Installing the Switch 1600M and 2424M The HP Switch 1600M and 2424M are easy to install units. They each come with an accessory kit that includes the brackets for mounting the switch in a standard 19-inch telco rack or an equipment cabinet, or on a wall, and with rubber feet that can be attached so the switch can be securely located on a horizontal surface.

The procedures differ slightly, though, between adding a new module to the empty slot or replacing the module with the same type, and exchanging the module with a different type.
