Modifications

The FCC requires the user to be notified that any changes or modifications
made to this device that are not expressly approved by Compaq Computer
Corporation may void the user's authority to operate the equipment.

Cables

Connections to this device must be made with shielded cables with metallic
RFI/EMI connector hoods in order to maintain compliance with FCC Rules
and Regulations.

FCC Part 68 Notice

If the Fax Modem Protector causes harm to the telephone network, the
Telephone Company may temporarily discontinue your service. If possible,
they will provide advance notification. If advance notice is not practical,
notification will be provided as soon as possible. You will be advised of your
right to file a complaint with the FCC. The Telephone Company may make
changes in its facilities, equipment, operations or procedures that could affect
the proper operation of your equipment. If the Telephone Company does,
advance notice will be given to provide an opportunity to maintain
uninterrupted service. If trouble with this equipment is experienced, Fax
Modem Protector, please contact Compaq for repair/warranty information. The
Telephone Company may request that the equipment be disconnected from the
network until the problem has been corrected or until the equipment is not
malfunctioning. There are no repairs that can be made by the customer to the
Fax Modem Protector. This equipment may not be used on coin service
provided by the Telephone Company. Connection to party lines is subject to
state tariffs. (Contact the state public utility commission or corporation
commission for information.)
