Setting the base station

All the settings for the base station are made with a registered SL1 colour handset.

Protecting the telephone from unauthorised access

Protect the system settings of the base station with a system PIN that only you know.
The system PIN now has to be entered for handset registration/de-registration, restoring
factory settings, internal activation or barring numbers, for example.
Changing the System PIN
You can change the base station's 4-digit system PIN (factory setting 0000) to a 4-digit
PIN which is known only to you. This also allows you to remotely operate the answering
machine in the Gigaset SL150 colour (page 61).

Changing the name of the base station

The names "Base station 1" to "Base station 4" are assigned automatically. You can
change the name of your base station.

The name of the base station is handset specific, i.e. the base station

receives the name assigned to it from the corresponding handset. The
same base station can have different names on different handsets.
If necessary, enter the current system PIN and con-
firm.
Enter the new system PIN. For security reasons the
input is shown as four asterisks ( **** ).
Scroll to the next line and repeat the new system PIN.
Confirm.
Long press (back to idle status).
Select the base station and press the display key.
Enter a new name (up to 16 characters) (for text
input see page 91).
Now press the display key to confirm the setting.
