2. Message display
• Indicates the current status of the printer.
• Indicates the selected settings for the various functions of the
printer.
3. Message indicator

Message indicator flashing
Indicates that an error has occured.
•
Message indicator OFF
Normal.
4. Proceed key
The Proceed key clears most recoverable errors and returns the
printer back to
size requests.
5. On Line key (see page 3-4)
The On Line key indicates whether or not the printer is on-line or
off-line. If this key is pressed while in the
printer exits the menu and returns on-line. All keys except this
key are valid during the off-line state.
6. On-line indicator (see page 2-46)

On-line indicator ON
Indicates that the printer can receive data from the host computer.
•
On-line indicator flashing
Indicates "power on self test" and "initialization".
•
On-line indicator OFF
Indicates that the printer cannot receive data from the host com-
puter.
