How to playback messages remotely
1.
Call your own phone number and wait for VoiceMail to answer.
2.
As soon as VoiceMail answers (and you can hear your outgoing message
playing), key-in ✱ followed by your remote access code, for example: ✱1234.
& If you don't key-in the correct code, try again.
3.
Once you've keyed-in the correct code, you'll hear 3 beeps.
When you hear 3 beeps, dial one of the numbers below to carry out the following
commands:
dial 1 to playback all messages (in date / time order)
dial 2 to playback your outgoing message
dial 3 to record a new outgoing message (speak after the beep)
dial 7 to switch VoiceMail off*
dial 8 to delete current (or last) message played
dial 9 to switch VoiceMail on*
dial ✱ to go back and play previous message in list
dial 0 to stop
dial # to go forwards and play next message in list
(Note if you dial 1 to playback messages and you hear 3 beeps straight away, this
means there are no messages.)
4.
Hang up to end the call.
*If VoiceMail is switched off, the machine will still answer (after 16 rings). This is so
you can call your own phone number, key-in your remote access code, then playback
and delete messages, switch VoiceMail on, record a new outgoing message, etc.
As well as playing back VoiceMail messages, you will also hear any voice memos. The
voice memo feature enables people to come to your machine (while you are away) and
leave messages for you to retrieve by phone at your convenience. (For information see
page 110.)
Note that there's a cut-out-and-keep reminder of the above codes on page
163 of this book.
