4.3 HP ProCurve 3500yl Series LEDs

Figure 4-5 shows the HP ProCurve 3500yl-24G LEDs and ProCurve 3500yl-48G LEDs. The
ProCurve 3500yl-48G has the same LEDs as the 3500yl-24G.

4.4 ProCurve Switch 10-GbE yl Module

HP Cluster Platform configurations require the optional ProCurve Switch 10-GbE yl module
(see Figure 4-6) when connecting the ProCurve 3500yl leaf switches to a top level 10GbE switch.
This module has two Media Flex ports for supported transceivers and two fixed CX4 ports. The
yl module provides 4 ports:
• two 10-GbE CX4 fixed copper ports (used in HP Cluster Platform configurations)
• two 10-GbE flexible media slots that support a number of different transceivers
Features of the yl module include:
• Connectivity to both copper and fiber
• LEDs that provide information for each port on the link status, network activity
• LEDs that provide information on Module power and Module fault conditions
