Failover Status Descriptions

The following is a complete list of the failover statuses that may appear in the
HASTAT HAFO Status Report:
Status shown during normal operation:

• Ready

• Validated

Status associated with a failover event:
• Array Failure
• Timeout/No Reply
• Failover Failed
Other miscellaneous status values:
• Not HAFO dev
• Not Validated
• Unknown status
Each status is described in the sections below.
Status shown during normal operation
Ready
The Ready status indicates that this is the path that will be used for the next I/O
for this Ldev and that the last I/O to this Ldev successfully completed on this
path. After a system boot or successful
should show Ready status. (shown for Ldev 350 primary path in the sample
report (on page 33))
Validated
The Validated status indicates that this path was verified to be operational AND
that both paths, primary and alternate, are able to access the MPE/iX Ldev.
Validated status is set at the following times:
