Connecting YourVCR
Now that you're familiar
with some of your V,3R's features,
you're
ready to connect
the antenna
and the televisi,m.
You won't; have
to complete
all of the connections
you see in this chapter
-- make
only those connections
that apply to your equLpment.
You should keep in mind that there are two steps you need to
take to connect
your VCR: first, connect
the antenna
or cable to
the VCR, then connect
the VC,R to the televis!.on.

The first thing you need to do is connect the _ntenna
or cable.
Because
there
are at least three different
types of antennas,
this
chapter
will show how to connect all of them. You don't need to
make all the connections.
First, find out what kind of antenna
you
have. Then, make the connection
for that type of antenna.
You
can then go to the next section,
"Connecting
the Television."
This section
shows you:
• Connecting
cable antennas,
• Connecting
other antermas,
and
• Connecting
separate
UHF/VHF
antennas.
Connectingcable antennas
If you have cable TV, this is the only antenna
you need to ]hook
up. Because
some cable companies
require
a cable box (for un-
scrambling
cable signals),
there are two kinds of cable connec-
tions shown: with and without
a cable box.

O
Find the "source" cable. It usually
comes out of the floor or out
of a wall. If it is connected
to your TV, disconnect
it.
Connect
the cable to the ANTENNA
IN terminal
on the back
of your VCR. Screw or pu,;h the cable onto the terminal
until
it is tight.
When you are finished,

the Televi-
sion."
