Purpose of adjustment: To optimize the white balance of the images
Symptom when adjustment is incomplete: Colors are added to monochrome image.
*1 Perform this adjustment only when the Color Balance is lost of gray signal (20%) after either the
Main PWB Ass'y or the LCD Block has been replaced.
*2 Perform this adjustment after heat running for 2 minutes over with input test signal.
*3 Input the adjustment commands and values in upper case characters.
1. Input the XGA signal (All white 20%, No. 06).
2. Use the following as the default values in the IMAGE MENU.
CONTRAST ------------- 0
BRIGHTNESS ---------- 0
COLOR TEMP. --------- STANDARD
COLOR MATRIX ------- OFF
3. Project an image on the screen and then perform the heat running for 2 minutes over.
4. Perform the item 5 in case of without the color tone/differential meter.
Perform the items 6-9 in case of using the color tone/differential meter.
In case of without the color tone/differential meter
5. Adjust using each R, G and B adjustment command to be without color at the center of the
picture.
The adjustment commands are R: [ 00~821□□□ ], G: [ 00~822□□□ ] and B: [ 00~823□□□ ].
Input the numeral of the decimal notation R: [ -30 ] - [ +10 ], G: [ -20 ] - [ +05 ] or B: [ -50 ] - [ +50 ] in the
□□□. It will be returned as sent. (*4)
If the adjustment value is increased, the objective color will be increased, also.
If the adjustment value is decreased, the objective color will be decreased, also.
Input the write command [ 00~83 ] in the Hyper Terminal window to write the changed value to
the EEPROM. (It will be returned as sent.)
In case of using the color tone/differential meter
6. Measure the color differential value at the center of the picture.
If the x and y value are within the adjustment specification, exit this adjustment.
7. Adjust the G Gamma Bright 20% to be within the adjustment specification only for the y value.
If the adjustment value is increased, the y value will be increased, also.
If the adjustment value is decreased, the y value will be decreased, also.
Input the adjustment command [ 00~822□□□ ] in the Hyper Terminal window.
In the □□□ , input the numeral of the decimal notation from [ -20 ] to [ +05 ] to be within the
adjustment specification for the y value. It will be returned as sent. (*4)
Input the write command [ 00~83 ] in the Hyper Terminal window to write the changed value to
the EEPROM. (It will be returned as sent.)
If the y value could not be within the adjustment specification by the G Gamma Bright 20%
adjustment, adjust the B Gamma Bright 20% to be within the adjustment specification only for
the y value.
If the adjustment value is decreased, the y value will be increased, also.
If the adjustment value is increased, the y value will be decreased, also.
Input the adjustment command [ 00~823□□□ ] in the Hyper Terminal window.
In the □□□ , input the numeral of the decimal notation from [ -50 ] to [ +50 ] to be within the
adjustment specification for the y value. It will be returned as sent. (*4)
Input the write command [ 00~83 ] in the Hyper Terminal window to write the changed value to
the EEPROM. (It will be returned as sent.)
8. Adjust the R Gamma Bright 20% to be within the adjustment specification only for the x value.
If the adjustment value is increased, the x value will be increased, also.
If the adjustment value is decreased, the x value will be decreased, also.
Input the adjustment command [ 00~821□□□ ] in the Hyper Terminal window.
In the □□□ , input the numeral of the decimal notation from [ -30 ] to [ +10 ] to be within the
adjustment specification for the x value. It will be returned as sent. (*4)
Input the write command [ 00~83 ] in the Hyper Terminal window to write the changed value to
the EEPROM. (It will be returned as sent.)
*4 The current value can be checked by sending with only [ 00~821 ], [ 00~822 ] or [ 00~823 ] (with
nothing entered in □□□) .
9. Repeat the item 6-8 to be within the adjustment specification for both value x and y.
If they will never be within the adjustment specification, it will be permit within the allowance
limit.
