Typographical Conventions
Certain type fonts and styles act as visual cues to help you rapidly
understand the information presented:
Example
It is very important that you follow
these steps. You must attach the
wristband before touching the

The part of the headset that fits over
one or both ears is called a
headpiece.
If you press the Feature button on
an MLX display telephone, the
display lists telephone features you
can select. A programmed Auto Dial
button gives you instant access to
an inside or outside number.
Choose Ext Prog from the display
screen.
To activate Call Waiting, dial *11.
Product Safety Labels
Throughout these documents, hazardous situations are indicated by an
exclamation point inside a triangle and the word caution or warning.
WARNING:
Warning indicates the presence of a hazard that could cause death or
severe personal injury if the hazard is not avoided.
Purpose
Italics indicate emphasis
Italics also set off special terms.
The names of fixed-feature,
factory-imprinted buttons appear
in bold. The names of
programmed buttons are printed
as regular text.
Plain constant-width type
indicates text that appears on the
telephone display or PC screen.
Constant-width type in italics
indicates characters you dial at
the telephone or type at the PC.
