4.18 Fluorescent Lamp

4.18.5 Replacing the 14.1 Inch XGA LG.Philips Fluorescent Lamp

The following describes the procedure for replacing the fluorescent lamp (See Figure 4-82 to
Figure 4-89).
Removing the tape and cover shield
1. Remove the adhesive tape fixing the B/L cable (1). Be careful not to apply excessive
force to the B/L cable.
2. Remove the adhesive tape (Yupo paper) fixing the top case (2).
3. Remove the cover shield (C) (3). Be careful not to apply excessive force to the LCD
controller. Wear anti-static gloves as much as possible to prevent circuit damage
caused by ESC.
4. Remove the cover shield (G) (4). Be careful not to apply excessive force to the TCP.
5. Remove the adhesive tape fixing the top case (5, 6). During this step, be careful not to
apply excessive force to the top case.
