Probable Cause
Devices attached to the SATA 1 (blue)
and SATA 3 (black) connectors are
inaccessible while SATA Emulation is
set to Combined IDE Controller in
Setup.
Internal temperature exceeds
specification.
Microcode Update. Contact HP for a
new Microcode Update to support the
new Processor Stepping.
The system board does not support
the processor.
Electronic serial number has become
corrupted.
Chipset has detected more than one
bad bit in a 64-bit quadword of the
memory array.
Parity RAM failure.
Recommended Action
1.
Run Computer Setup (F10 Setup).
2.
Select Storage>Storage Options, and set the
SATA controller to Separate IDE Controller.
CAUTION:
Disconnect AC power from the
workstation before reseating or replacing components
because there is power to the system board even when
the workstation is powered down.
1.
Check that workstation air vents are not blocked
and that the cooling fan is running.
2.
Verify processor speed selection.
3.
Replace the processor.
4.
Replace the system board.
Upgrade BIOS to proper version.
CAUTION:
Disconnect AC power from the
workstation before reseating or replacing components
because there is power to the system board even when
the workstation is powered down.
Replace the processor with a compatible one.
1.
Run Computer Setup. If Setup already has data in
the field or will not allow the serial number to be
entered, download SP5572.EXE (SNZERO.EXE)
from
http://www.hp.com
workstation.
2.
Run Computer Setup. Try to enter the serial
number under Security>System ID, and save the
changes.
CAUTION:
Disconnect AC power from the
workstation before reseating or replacing components
because there is power to the system board even when
the workstation is powered down.
Replace the memory module.
Run Computer Setup and Diagnostic utilities.
