1. We recommend that you plug a phone
into one of the jacks marked To Phone,
Ans. Machine or Modem on the fax
connector on the back of your HP Fax.
2. Press Answer Mode and select Auto or
Manual.
3a. If you select Auto...
To receive faxes:
The HP Fax will "listen" to all phone calls. If you pick up the
phone and hear fax tones, simply stay on the line until you hear
the HP Fax connect, then hang up.
3b. If you select Manual...
To receive faxes:
When you answer a phone and hear fax tones,
press Start if you answered a phone plugged into the HP Fax, or
press 1 2 3 if you picked up another phone.
