14 Resolving Problems with Your Server
•
If the control panel prompts for an IP address (
indicating that the configuraton is set to "first time" defaults, or
you have just replaced your server module:
a. Go ahead and set the three basic IP parameters, so that your
server will be accessible on the network. Follow the
instructions in step 5 on page 2-9 through step 12 on
page 2-13.
b. When you reach the Installation Wizard (step 12), your action
depends on whether your "Disaster Recovery Backup" or
other backup sets contain the c/system/ or
c/system/config/ directory (the configuration files).

If the configuration files are backed up, you need not
configure anything here. Instead, click "Go straight to
HD Server Admin". Restore that directory from backups
to overwrite the default configuration directory. Then
restore the server and network configuration to the
Flash memory in the server using Configuration Æ
Save/Restore Configuration Æ Restore Configuration.

If the configuration files are not available for restoral,
then use the Installation Wizard and HD Server Admin
to reconfigure your networking parameters, security
model, shares, users and groups, and backup schedules.
c.
Restart your server and verify that your configuration is
complete and current for your environment.
d. Save the server and network configuration that is currently
being used from Flash memory to be on the volume. Use
Configuration Æ Save/Restore Configuration Æ
Save Configuration. Back up the c/system/ or
c/system/config/ directory again.

If you have lost the backup copy of the server configuration
stored on the volume (in the c/system/config/ directory),
while the configuration currently used on your server is OK.
Save the server and network configuration that is currently
being used from Flash memory to be on the volume. Use
Configuration Æ Save/Restore Configuration ÆSave
Configuration. Back up the c/system/ or c/system/config/
directory again.
