Configuring Your Client Adapter
Description
Keeps the client adapter powered up continuously
so there is little lag in message response time.
Consumes the most power but offers the highest
throughput. Is recommended for desktop
computers and devices that use AC power.
Switches between a PSP mode and CAM mode,
depending on network traffic. This mode switches
to CAM when retrieving a large number of
packets and switches back to PSP after the packets
are retrieved.
Is recommended when power consumption is a
concern but you need greater throughput than that
allowed by Max PSP.
Causes the access point to buffer incoming
messages for the client adapter, which wakes up
periodically and polls the access point to see if
any buffered messages are waiting for it. The
adapter can request each message and then go
back to sleep.
Conserves the most power but offers the lowest
throughput. Is recommended for devices for
which power consumption is the ultimate concern
(such as small battery-powered devices).
