The correct maximum number of SRC interfaces supported on the different
ERX routers is as follows:
16,000 interfaces on the ERX310 router
32,000 interfaces on the ERX705 and ERX710 router
32,000 interfaces on the ERX1410 router
48,000 interfaces on the ERX1440 router
The ERX Hardware Guide and E120 and E320 Hardware Guide fail to state the
following:
In all the instances where the step on tightening screws for modules was
mentioned, the following caution is omitted.
CAUTION: Do not overtighten the screws.
Also, in the installation steps and in the set of tools required for performing
a task, the model of the Phillips screwdriver to be used for tightening and
loosening screws is not precisely mentioned as No. 2.
In instances where thumbscrews had to be tightened, these guides fail to
mention that you can hand-tighten the screws to secure the module.
The ERX Module Guide fails to include a Module Name Cross-Reference
Information appendix. See Appendix B, Module Name Cross-Reference
Information, in these Release Notes for a single table that lists the module label
name, software display name, and the model number for each module for ERX
routers.
The description concerning use of ferrite beads for the following IOAs in the
E320 and E120 Module Guide is incorrect. Ferrite beads are no longer required
to be used with the following copper SFPs:
ES2-S1 GE-4 IOA
ES2-S1 GE-8 IOA
ES2-S3 GE-20 IOA (with Finnisar FCLF8522P2BTL–J1SFP only); for all other
ES2-S3 GE-20 IOAs, a ferrite bead is still required.
In the E120 and E320 Module Guide, the Cables and connectors (multimode
[SX]) row in the tables for the GE-4 IOA, GE-8 IOA, and GE-20 IOA erroneously
states that the maximum transmit power is -4dBm. In fact, the maximum
transmit power for these IOAs with multimode cable is -3dBm.
