Replace ZEN_Server_address with the IP address or DNS name of the Primary or Secondary Server.

11.3 Automatically Registering the Services at
the Initial Startup of zmd
zmd can automatically register the services configured in the
file. The
initial-configuration
file is located in
on SLES 10 or SLES 11 and SLED 10 or SLED 11 managed devices,
/etc/zmd/
and in
on other managed devices.
/etc/opt/novell/zenworks/zmd/
The
file contains the URL for the supported services that zmd registers
initial-configuration
at initial startup. zmd uses the information in the in the
file to mount all
initial-configuration
the services the first time it starts. These services are not loaded during the subsequent startups
because zmd records the already mounted services in
. If
@localstatedir@/lib/zmd/services
you want zmd to mount the services listed in
every time it starts, you
initial-configuration
must delete the services file before starting zmd.
To have zmd automatically register devices, you must manually create the
initial-
file with the following contents:
configuration
[URL of the service]
type = service_type
key = service_name
In the file, you can also specify the
for services that need a key for
registration_code
registration.
If you want to use special characters such as $ ! & ; ' " in the key value, you must enclose the value
within single quotes.
