Handling Bookmarks
Build a nested bookmark
structure to declutter the
Bookmarks pane. As you
build a nested structure, a
level indicator appears to the
left of the parent bookmark.
Click the plus sign to expand,
and the minus sign to col-
lapse the bookmark.
Nested bookmarks are
dependant on their par-
ent bookmark. When you
move the parent bookmark,
Acrobat includes any child
bookmarks and levels in the
move. If you delete a parent
bookmark, all nested levels
are deleted, too.

4. Open the target document's Destinations pane, and double-click the
destination's listing. Acrobat takes you back to the Link Properties dia-
log, where you see the listed action contains the document and the
destination names (Figure 114b).
5. Click OK to close the Link Properties dialog, returning you to the link
on the source document.
6. Test the link and save the source document.
Nesting Bookmarks
Bookmarks form an interactive table of contents that lets your readers quickly
see an outline of your document's contents. To move bookmarks, remember
these points:
If you want to nest a bookmark, select it and drag it by the icon. Again you'll
see the horizontal black line. When you are below the bookmark you are
designating as the parent, drag slightly to the right. When you see the hori-
zontal line move below the parent bookmark's text rather than its icon,
release the mouse to nest the bookmark.
If you want to move a bookmark out of a nested position, drag the book-
mark icon to a position below the parent bookmark and drag left. When you
see the horizontal black line below the parent bookmark's icon, release the
mouse to promote the bookmark.
