Get It Together
If you have a large number
of comments addressing the
same thing, you can collect
them together into one
grouped comment. When
you choose comments to
group, only the text for the
first comment selected is
shown in the Comments List,
while the text for the remain-
ing comments is hidden.
Select the most important or
representative comment first;
for example, if Reviewer A
adds a comment describing a
change that should be made,
and then Reviewers B and
C agree, select Reviewer A's
comment first so that you
can see the content of the
comment in the Comments
List after grouping. To group
comments, follow these
steps:
1. Click the Hand tool on
the Select & Zoom tool-
bar and click the first
comment. Ctrl-click
(Control-click) to select
the others you want to
include in the group.
Select the comments
from the list or directly
on the document page.
2. Right-click (Control-click)
the selected comments
on the document page,
C h a p t e r t e n
The comment type is shown as an icon on the Comments List.
Click the plus sign to the left of a comment to open its contents. Read
details such as the type of comment, author, and date it was applied.
Clicking plus signs can get tiresome. To quickly open all the pages and
all the comments, click Expand All
Click Collapse All
Use the Next arrows on the Comments List toolbar to show the previous
or next comments (click the Up and Down arrow buttons respectively).
Working on a long document can involve dozens or even hundreds
of comments. That's a lot of information to keep track of. Here are a few
suggestions for working with comments:
Reply to a comment rather than adding one of your own, such as the
Skippy and MsD comments in the figure. First, click the comment to
select it in the Comments List and then click the Reply button on the
toolbar. Type the reply in the text field. Acrobat places the Reply icon
before your text.
Delete comments you don't want to maintain. Click the comment
to select it and then click the Delete button on the Comments List
toolbar.
Double-click a comment in the Comments List to open its display in
the Document pane, like the Oval comment shown in Figure 75. You
see the details of the original comment, as well as any replies that
overlay the comment's note box.
