AntiLock systems manufactured after January
20, 1997 are designed so that the antilock dash
lamp extinguishes after a successful self test of
the electronics and system wiring. Previous
systems required vehicle speed input to
extinguish the dash lamp.

If the EC-16

controller has been recently replaced, deter-
mine if it is a self configuring model (refer to service data
™
section entitled "EC-16
CONTROLLER CONFIGURATION")
and make certain it is configured properly for the vehicle.
If traction control is part of the configuration, the "enable
- disable" switch must be placed in the enabled position
(traction control operable).
