CHAPTER 16

Sharing Website Connections

With the Macromedia Contribute Export Connection Wizard, you can easily set up users with
connections to websites. The wizard provides an efficient mechanism through which Contribute
users can share website connections for collaboration. Contribute lets you share website
connection information by embedding website information within a file that you can either
e-mail to users, or save to your computer for users to download and import.
The Export Connection Wizard lets you send website connections to users in the form of a
connection key file. The connection key is encrypted with a password, so any network or File
Transfer Protocol (FTP) login information you send in the file remains secure, and can only be
accessed using Contribute. The connection key file uses the filename extension .stc. If you
double-click the file either on the desktop, or as an attachment, Contribute starts and imports
the connection.
