Specifying alternate web addresses

If Contribute users will visit a website using a different host name, different directory path, or
different port number, you must configure Contribute to recognize these alternate web addresses
and associate them with the appropriate website connection.
You need not configure Contribute to recognize all possible website aliases; only those that
Contribute users will actually use to access the website.
To specify an alternate web address for a website:
Do one of the following:
1
If the Administrator Password dialog box appears, enter the administrator password and click OK.
If the site has no administrator, a dialog box appears and asks if you want to become the
website's administrator. Click Yes; then enter and confirm an administrator password for the
website and click OK.
The Administer Website dialog box appears.
Click Sitewide Settings.
2
The Sitewide Settings dialog box appears.
Click the Index and URL Mapping button.
3
The Advanced Sitewide Settings dialog box appears.
Click the Add button.
4
The Add or Edit Alternate Address dialog box appears.
Enter an alternate URL and click OK.
5
The new URL appears in the Alternate addresses list.
6
When you have entered all of the alternate web addresses, click OK to close the Advanced
7
Sitewide Settings dialog box.
