Automatic point entry

When automatic point entry is used to measure features, the point is entered each time the stage
is moved to position the part under the crosshair. The automatic point entry is delayed until the
stage has been motionless for a short time after the move to ensure that the crosshair is located
where the user intended.
NOTE
The Crosshair Timeout delay is specified in the Measure setup screen. Refer to
Chapter 10: Setup for details.
The crosshair Timeout delay is shown on the DRO as an ani-
mated dot revolving clockwise around the probe icon button.
The delay is restarted before the point is entered if the stage is moved again before the delay period is
over.
NOTE
The amount of stage movement must be equal to or greater than the Crosshair Dis-
tance specified in the Measure setup screen.

Manual point entry

When the manual point entry crosshair is used to measure features, the probe is positioned over
the desired Part feature and then the Enter key is pressed.
