Introduction 1. Introduction The AY-x25 Prox Reader is a MIFARE ID Read-only family of proximity ® readers that are intended primarily for use in access control system applications. The AY-x25 family reads the MIFARE Card Identification ® Number and transmits it to the access control system, using multi- formats common Wiegand interface. -

Installation 3.1 The Installation Kit The Installation kit comprises the following items that are to be used during the installation procedure: • One Mounting Template • Two pan head screws & wall plugs • One L shaped security screw tool •... - Page 8 Installation Figure 1: Removing the Top Cover Align the two holes of the Reader with those drilled in the wall and firmly attach the Reader to the wall with two screws, whose size is indicated on the template. Relocate the front cover onto the Reader. Note: The Reader can also be mounted using strong epoxy glue.

Prepare the Controller cable by cutting its jacket back 1¼"... - Page 10 Wiring Instructions Note: • The individual wires from the Reader are color-coded according the Wiegand standard. • When using a separate power supply for the Reader, this supply and that of the Controller must have a common ground. • The Reader’s cable shield wire should be preferably attached to an earth ground, or a signal ground connection at the panel, or power supply end of the cable.

Operation Instructions Operation Instructions The Reader should be tested after wiring it to a power supply and the Controller. To test the Reader: Power up the Reader. The LED flashes green and the Beeper sounds, three times, thus indicating that the Reader is working properly. -
