4. Replace the hatch.
6. Gently press the RESET button with a fine and sharp object to
reinitialize the calculator.
7. Press [ON] to turn the calculator on. If the batteries have been correctly
installed, the icon
is not so, remove and reinsert the batteries once again.
Misuse of batteries may cause the electrolytic fluid to leak or cause the
batteries to explode, causing damage to the calculator. Please read the
following instructions carefully to avoid such incidents:
• Ensure that you have purchased the specified battery model for the
calculator before installing the battery.
• Respect the polarity indicated in the battery compartment.
• Do not leave an old or used battery in the calculator as it may leak and
cause irreparable damage.
- Keep all new or used batteries out of reach small children.
- Never throw batteries into a fire as they may explode.
- Whenever possible, avoid throwing batteries with household refuge but
rather try to throw them in a recycling bin.
Extreme Conditions
If the calculator is exposed to an electric field or to an electric shock during
use, it may cause abnormal phenomenon which may neutralize the
functioning of some of the keys including the ON key. If this occurs,
reactivate the calculator by removing and reinserting the batteries.
Warning! The memory content will be completely wiped out if you do this.
Only reactivate the calculator for the following reasons:
• To erase all the memory content.
• In extreme conditions or when the keys are no longer working.

Handling Precautions

• Never attempt to take the calculator apart as it is made up of precision
components.
• Do not drop the calculator or subject it to strong impact.
• Do not carry the calculator in the back pocket of your trousers.
• Avoid use and storage in areas subjected to large amounts of humidity,
dust and high temperatures. A very cold environment may cause the
calculator's responses to slow down or cause the calculator to shut down
altogether. Once the temperature becomes milder, the calculator will
once again function normally.
• Avoid all contact with water or other liquid substances as this may cause
a short circuit in the calculator resulting in a fire hazard. Take care not to
splash water on the calculator.
• Avoid using chemical liquids or spirits to clean the machine. Wipe with a
soft, dry cloth, or with a cloth moistened in a weak solution of water and a
mild neutral household detergent.
• In no event shall the manufacturer or its suppliers be liable to you or
anyone for any damages, expenses, loss of profit, loss of money or any
other prejudices arising from a loss of data and/or formulas caused by the
improper functioning of the machine, repairs or replacement of batteries.
• The user must keep written records of all important documents and data
to protect himself from all loss.
• Never dispose of the batteries, the liquid crystal display screen or other
parts of the calculator by burning them.
• If the calculator is exposed to a high electrostatic discharge, its memory
