■ Mounting the transceiver

Using the template on the supplied leaflet, mount the transceiver securely to a surface
which is more than 10 mm (0.03 ft) thick and can support more than 5 kg (11 lb) using the
4 supplied screws (5 × 20 mm), as illustrated below.
L The same template can be used for both the IC-M410BB and the IC-M510BB, although the
IC-M510BB is used as an example below.
CAUTION: KEEP the transceiver and microphone at least 1 meter (3.3 ft) away from
the vessel's magnetic navigation compass.
NOTE: Be sure that the GPS antenna is positioned where it has a clear view to receive
signals from satellites, and fixed using the double-sided adhesive pad supplied with the
GPS antenna.
