Products to Avoid in the Boiler Room

Do NOT store the following products in the boiler room and/or around combustion air intake
vents:
Spray cans containing chlorocarbons/fluorocarbons
Ammonium and/or ammonium solutions
Permanent wave solutions
Chlorinated waxes and/or cleaners
Chlorinated swimming pool chemicals
Calcium chloride used for thawing
Sodium chloride used for water softening
Refrigerant leaks
Paint or varnish removers
Hydrochloric acid/muriatic acid
Cements and glues
Antistatic fabric softeners used in clothes dryers
Chlorine-type bleaches, detergents, and cleaning solvents
Adhesives used to fasten building products
Other damaging or flammable products

4.7 RECOMMENDED CLEARANCES FOR SERVICING

Recommended clearances around the boiler are listed below (see Figure 4-8):
It is recommended to provide the boiler with the clearances as shown in the drawing in order to be
able to perform normal service and cleaning operations. Minimum required clearances depend on
the piping and venting configuration. For further details, contact your loal manufacturer's
representative.
