When combustion air is brought from outside the building and the boiler room is provided with two permanent openings, one shall commence 12 inches from the top and the other shall commence within 12 inches from the bottom of the room (see Figure 5).

    Modulex EXT Vent and Combustion Air Application Guide CHAPTER 3: VENT SYSTEM Correct boiler venting is crucial for proper operation. Being a condensing boiler, combustion gases are discharged at a very low temperature. It is therefore necessary for the venting system to be impermeable to combustion products and condensate and to be made of corrosion resistant materials.

The maximum length is the sum of the equivalent straight length of horizontal runs, vertical runs, and fittings of the individual vent connector and the common vent pipe.
