PROBLEMS
(SYMPTOMS)
The arc quality is poor with
excessive spatter. The arc heat
can be controlled and
maintained normally. The
auxiliary output is normal and
the engine operates normally.
If for any reason you do not understand the test procedures or are unable to perform the test/repairs safely, contact the
Lincoln Electric Service Department for electrical troubleshooting assistance before you proceed. Call 1-888-935-3877.
POSSIBLE AREAS OF
MISADJUSTMENT(S)
FUNCTION PROBLEMS
1. The ARC CONTROL may be
set too high.
2. The output control may be
set too high for the electrode
being used. Check that the
electrode is of good quality, dry
and free from contamination.
Try using Lincoln Electrode and
setting the machine per
Lincoln's recommendations.
3. Check for proper work and
electrode leads and
connections (size, length, coils
or bad connections).

COURSE OF ACTION
1. Perform the Output Control
And Arc Control Potentiometer
Test Procedure.
2. The weld control board may
be faulty.
3. Perform the Choke test
Procedure.
