Testing the gas strut safety
The gas strut safety is 'general safety' so will stop the track in both direction, it is normally closed so
should have continuity when testing it at plug A42.
Note – If you test no continuity on the gas strut safety A42 on install, unplug it, make a bridge over
the pins on the PCB and drive it down a couple of inches, this will likely release the switch, plug the
gas strut safety back in and test, it will probably work OK. NEVER leave a lift in service with a safety
system shorted out/bypassed.

Faulty 126EL PCB
It can diffi cult to outright diagnose a PCB failure, so in this case we simply rule out the other options,
if the PCB is receiving 26v, the safety lines have tested good and the PCB still wont put 26v to the
motor then the PCB is faulty.
Some slightly more obscure complaints
1. Only 3v present at 125 comms line – cause – earth short circuit on grey wire between
125PCB and the 126EL PCB or Faulty 126EL PCB.
2. Noise from the track – cause - install error where the engineer failed to grease the guide
pad on the roller foot.
3. Noise from track – cause – Motor actuator fouling the inside of the track – production
error, new track needed.
4. Colour match problems – cause – incorrect batch pairing either in UK, US, HHW, Dealer
premises.
5. Poor joints where one rail seems wider than the other – Cause – incorrect batch pairing
either in UK, US, HHHW, dealer premises.
6. If you have a motor fault on an 1100 that is paired to a slide track, the motor fault code
will not appear on the display, the lift will simply be in a breakdown mode and likely only
showing 85L or 95L even without putting in a call to move. To diagnose, disconnect the
RF PCB from the 1100, power cycle the lift and drive with load, the motor fault should
reoccur and the lift will display the relevant information to correctly diagnose.
