Once we have established the problem is in the track
There is a sequence of testing that if done correctly will in the vast majority of cases will diagnose the
fault.
1.
Test the batteries of the battery box - the
charger must be turned off or you will get
false results.
2.
Test idle comms voltage at A31-2 (grey) and
A33-2 (black negative) - should be around 10v.
3.
Put a call in - voltage should drop momentarily
then spike to around 26v - if not check 5
amp fuse.
If the 125 is putting out 26v (ish) - your done
with it - move on the 126EL track PCB.
Pretty much the only job of the 125 is to supply the 126EL with 26v.
The problem is in the track
Because we know the 125 is putting out 26v by defi nition the 126EL must be receiving it – if the
1.
grey comms wire was broken, in say the trailing cable then they wouldn't be able to 'talk' to each
other and the 126EL wouldn't be able to request the 26v, if the 126EL doesn't request the 26v
then the 125 wont put it out.
2.
The next test is to check for voltage out at the motor A39 & A37 – put the probes over the pins
and put a call in – if 24v comes out of the 126EL then either the motor has failed or the wiring to it
so check all the motor connections and the small amount of accessible wiring you can get to.
3.
If there is no voltage coming out of the motor terminals then you have 6 potential problems – test
them in sequence and you will fi nd the fault.
