COMSPHERE 6800 Series Network Management System

Monitoring Health and Status

The 6800 Series NMS can be used to monitor and display the health and status of APL, DDD, and
DDS devices in the network using the commands listed in Table 1-4. These commands are
accessed from the System Management window. Refer to the COMSPHERE 6800 Series Network
Management System Communications Products Support Command Reference Manual for
additional information on these commands.

Description
Used to warn remote users of
impending testing or reconfiguration.
Used to display an estimate of the
impairments on a circuit.
Used to display the configuration
events that have occurred on a
device.
Used to display the health and status
of the devices.
Used to display the reason for a
facility (FA) or modem (MD) fault.
Used to display the status of each EIA
interface lead on the device.
Used to obtain information on a
device.
Used to display the estimated receive
signal level for a device.
Used to test the quality of the signal
being received by a device.
Used to determine if the terminal
connected to a device is powered on.
Used to send messages to one or
more devices.
Used to record the analog private line
or switched network transmission
facility's capability to carry data
signals by directing the selected
device to take a snapshot of the
facility's parameters.
Used to obtain a 3400/4400 Series
modem's training time information.

Indicates if the command
executed successfully.
Displays the measurement for
the signal quality parameters.
Indicates whether CCN is
currently enabled or disabled
and lists the configuration
changes for the device.
Lists the current status and
health of the specified
device(s).
Lists the FA and MD error
messages.
Lists the EIA leads for each
port.
Displays device-specific
information.
Displays the estimated receive
signal level in dBm.
Displays the estimated receive
signal quality and estimated
block error count.
Indicates whether power on a
specified port's terminal is on
or off.
Indicates whether the
command was executed
successfully.
Displays the facility's
parameters.
Displays the actual and
required training time in msec.
