Configuring 3900 Series Modems

The 3900 Series modems can be configured to perform specific functions by setting the following
options:
To set the options of a 3900 Series modem, execute the Change Options (cho) command. This
command is used to set the circuit, diagnostic, and Data Terminal Equipment (DTE) interface
features.
The Display Options (dso) command is another command related to modem configurations.

Support Command Reference Manual for additional information on these commands.

Configuring DATAPHONE II Devices

There are three types of DATAPHONE II devices (APL, DDD, DSU) that can be configured to
perform specific functions in your network management system. Before you configure these
devices make sure you have created device profiles for your devices and that the 6800 Series NMS
has been configured. Refer to COMSPHERE 6800 Series Network Management System
User's/System Administrator's Guide for information on creating device profiles and for
configuring the NMS.

Configuring APL Modems

The DATAPHONE II APL modems can be configured to perform specific functions by setting the
following modem options:
These options can be configured by executing the following commands:
Change Options (cho)
Change Multiplexer (chm)
You can display the device options of all the DATAPHONE II APL modems using the Display
Options (dso) command.

Support Command Reference Manual for a complete explanation of these commands.

Execute this command to set the device options from the 6800 Series NMS for the
DATAPHONE II APL modems.
Execute this command to set the speed from the 6800 Series NMS for the following
DATAPHONE II APL modems: 2096C, 2096T.
This command also sets the speed and multiplexing configuration of the DATAPHONE II
2096A, 2144A, and 2192A APL modems' ports.
