Operation in DPII Mode
For local control modems, the 6800 Series NMS
allows you to change either the local address or
the network address. Depending on the type of
address selected, the 6800 Series NMS reflects
the change in the other address. For example,
if you select the local address to change from
11 to 328, the 6800 Series NMS displays the
corresponding change in the network address
from 1 to 256.
Can change only one telephone number at a
time in a directory.
Can be issued to a single device or, if a
subnetwork request is made, DATAPHONE II
modem health and status messages will be
returned.
Can be issued over multiple links only if you
supply the tributary device identification as the
complete link-level address (no short-form
addressing is permitted). The test will not
execute if you input either a short-form link-level
address or a mnemonic name that accesses the
short-form address in the device profile.
Poll lists longer than 44 or 45 addresses may be
truncated due to limited form display.
Can be issued over multiple links only if you
supply the tributary device identification as the
complete link-level address (no short-form
