Using the direct input connector

Matrox Breakout Box can route an auxiliary input or trigger signal from a
third-party device to your Matrox camera through its direct input connector. To
use the direct input connector, perform the following:
1. Connect the digital I/O and power cable of your Matrox camera to your Matrox
Breakout Box by following the steps in the Powering and connecting your
Matrox camera section, earlier in this chapter.
2. Connect an open-wire cable from the third-party device to the relevant
wire-terminal of the direct input connector. If you connect to the TRIG+
wire-terminal, your Matrox camera will use the incoming signal as a trigger signal.
Your Matrox Breakout Box expects the auxiliary input signal to have a nominal
voltage of 15 to 24 V. If this is not the case, it is recommended that you use a
G4 Opto 22 I/O module. Refer to the Using the Opto 22-isolated input connectors
section, later in this chapter.
