Octave Filter Set Type 1613.
The Octave Filter
Set
is a compact, portable unit containing 11 band-pass
filters for octave analysis.
It
is primarily designed for use in conjunction
with the Sound Level Meter Type 2203 presenting the possibility of selective
measurements, which is of
special
interest for hearing aid tests using the
Test Box Type 4217 when extreme ambient noise conditions exist. The two
units
are
joined together by means of four screws, after the base plate of the
Sound Level Meter has been removed. The electrical
connection
between the
units is provided by a connection bar
(Fig. 4.1).

The Filter
Set
has
a
built-in
potentiometer
for
each octave filter which
allows
variable attenuation of
the filter
output
from 0 dB to
50
dB. These
adjust-
ment potentiometers
are switched
in
and out by
means
of the
WEIGHTING
SWITCH on
the front panel
of
the
Filter Set. More
