USING MEMORY

USB - TO HOST

Your Hammond M-solo contains Internal Memory which is accessible via the TO HOST port. This allows
data transfer between the M-solo and a PC connected to the TO HOST port by turning the M-solo into a
Mass Storage Device.
In order to make use of the MASS STORAGE Mode of the M-solo, do the following:
1.
Turn the power to the M-solo "OFF."
2.
Connect the computer you want to use as the Host to the TO HOST port (see the figure
below).
3.
Press and Hold the TRANSPOSE, OCTAVE DOWN and OCTAVE UP buttons, and press the
POWER button to turn the M-solo "ON."
4.
After approximately 5 seconds, Release the TRANSPOSE, OCTAVE DOWN and OCTAVE UP
buttons. The LEDs of the SYSTEM [RECORD] and VIBRATO & CHORUS ON buttons will blink.
Your host computer will now recognize the M-solo's Internal Memory as a Mass Storage device and
assign it a drive letter as if it were an USB Flash Drive, HDD/SSD disk, or SD card. The drive letter
assigned will be an "open" drive letter not currently in use by your computer or other Storage
Devices connected to your computer.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The M-solo's Internal Memory contains folders and sub-folders needed for
performing various operations (shown below). DO NOT re-name or delete these folders or attempt
to format the Internal Memory from your computer. Doing so may cause a serious malfunction.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not disconnect the USB connection from the M-solo while it is in MASS
STORAGE Mode. To return the M-solo to normal playing mode, turn the M-solo "OFF" then back
"ON."
