OSCILLATOR WAVEFORM controls

These buttons allow you to select the waveform for the Syn Instrument Type. There are four (4) choices:
1.
Triangle - This waveform consists of a fundamental plus odd-numbered harmonics , with each
harmonic a tenth as low in amplitude as the one preceding it. The sound is similar to a square
wave but much mellower in tone.
2.
Sawtooth - This waveform consists of a fundamental plus odd-and even-numbered harmonics,
with each harmonic decreasing in amplitude by half. Therefore it is the richest harmonically
of the available waveforms and is useful for brass and string-type tones.
3.
Square or Rectangular - This waveform consists of a fundamental plus odd-numbered
harmonics , with each harmonic a third as low in amplitude as the one preceding it. The
sound is similar to a clarinet of very hollow timbre.
4.
Pulse - This waveform "pulses" or modulates abruptly between its positive and negative values.
The amount of time the waveform is at its positive value is referred to as the pulse width or
duty cycle. For example, if the waveform is at its positive value 6% of the time it is referred to
as having a pulse width of 6%. Changing the pulse width changes the shape of the waveform
and therefore its sound, making a wide variety of different tones possible.
