2-3-7 Output beam diameter control

The output beam diameter at the work distance can be changed optically with turning the control dial.
Use this function to adjust the laser processing quality.
• The output beam diameter may not be the same with the line width at the laser scanning. The line width at the laser
scanning may be defined the combination of several factors, such as the output beam diameter, target materials, laser
power and scanning speed.
• When the output beam diameter is changed, the laser power density is also changed. After changing of the beam
diameter, confirm the laser processing quality and adjust the laser power and scanning speed with test lasing.
• If there are fluctuations in the ambient temperature, the output beam diameter can change around 1% per one degree
C. To ensure the stable processing quality, operate the laser processing machine under constant temperature.
(recommended operating temperature: 20°C ± 5°C)
• Always close the cover after adjusting the output beam diameter. The beam diameter might be changed if the cover is
not closed. The ingress protection characteristics of the head are ensured only when the fiber unit, cables, and the cover
of the output beam diameter control are mounted properly.
