6-2-4 Communication data format

Use the ASCII code for the communication data when monitoring the laser power with the serial communication data. The
characters enclosed with double quotation marks (" ") in the description below indicate the ASCII code. The characters
enclosed with [ ] indicate the control characters.
„ Basic data format

Item Description
Start code Code to identify the data head.
Use always [STX]: 02 (HEX) as a start code.
Command *1 One-byte alphabetic character representing the request or response data type.
It fixed to the following alphabetic character:
• Setting request of power output mode: "M"
• Readout request of power output mode: "R"
• Response for laser power: "P"
• Response for laser energy: "E"
Delimiter Code to identify the end of data.
Use always [CR]: 0D (HEX) as a delimiter.
*1 : There is no command character in the response data for normal or abnormal receiving to the setting request.
• Check sum is not supported to the power monitoring data.
• There is no separating character among the each terms.
• When using the external device set by 2-byte, [NUL]: 00(HEX) can be used. Add [NUL] before the start code or after the
delimiter.
„ Input data
Use the ASCII code to input the following data.
The content and the number of digits (data length) of numeric values vary for each command.

• For details on the ASCII code, refer to "Character Code Table" in Serial Communication Command Guide.
• It is not allowed to shorten the numeric data length. Even "0" in upper digit cannot be omitted.
